Port Blair, Nov 15: Its yet another proud moment for the islanders as R Kashthuri Bhai, a class VIII student of GDMS Middle Point, Port Blair has brought laurels to the A&N Islands by securing 7th position in the 8th ICA Open Below 1700 Rating Chess Tournament held in Bangalore, Karnataka from 11 - 13.11.2022. She remained undefeated in the tournament & scored 7 points out of 9 Rounds with five wins and four draws. She was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 12000/-, trophy and a certificate.

Port Blair, Nov 17: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma paid rich tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary.
The Member of Parliament attended two functions at Ranchi Association, Mohanpura and Attam Pahar to pay his tributes. He garlanded the statue of Freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda during the function and interacted with the members of Chota Nagpuri Community.

Port Blair, Nov. 15: Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A&N State Organising Committee, who is currently on a tour to Middle & North Andaman, visited the Dr Rajendra Prasad District Hospital, Mayabunder on 14th Nov 2022 and met the Medical Superintendent. He discussed the various issues pertaining to health care system in Mayabunder area. Shri Ayyappan expressed concern over the shortage of medical officers and nurses in the hospital. Posts of Specialists are lying vacant in the hospital and no effort has been made by the Health Department to post Specialist doctors.
